The Turning Point of Chester is a faith-based nonprofit established in 1987, serving men, individuals, and families throughout Chester County and South Carolina. Our residential services help men overcome addiction, homelessness, criminal justice involvement, and other barriers. Our food programs, Dove’s Nest Thrift Store, and case management services support individuals and families facing food insecurity, needing household essentials, or seeking referrals to community resources. 

Our programs are rooted in a strong belief in God and the power of faith, compassion, and supportive services to transform lives. We welcome and serve all eligible individuals without discrimination.

Our mission is to meet people who are hurting at their point of need, restore men, strengthen families, and create lasting change for future generations through faith, compassion, and supportive services.

Our Faith

Our programs are grounded in a strong belief that faith can bring healing, restoration, and new beginnings. We believe that individuals affected by addiction and other hardships can overcome bondage, rebuild their lives, and experience meaningful change. 

Our faith is grounded in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV):

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Our Purpose: Strengthening Men and Restoring Families

We do this work because the struggles experienced by one person can affect an entire family and community. Substance use, crime, suicide, incarceration, and other destructive behaviors often reflect deeper challenges that require compassion, guidance, and meaningful support.

When a father is affected by addiction, struggling with gambling, involved with the criminal justice system, or has never learned how to fulfill his responsibilities as a parent, the entire family can be affected. We help men overcome barriers to successful recovery and reentry, rebuild family relationships, develop parenting skills, and become positive and dependable examples for their children.

By restoring men, supporting successful community integration, and strengthening fathers, we help restore families and create a turning point for future generations.
